Welcome to NYCichlids.net Dear Friends, I am pleased to welcome each and every one of you to NYCichlids.net For those of you who may not already know Richard has passed ownership of the site to me, he has done this because it is personally important to him that the site he so generously saved from nearly coming to an unfortunate end not that long ago, regain the popularity it once held and ultimately prosper and grow beyond it. He felt this could best be accomplished by someone who was more rooted in the local community than he was, and asked if I would be up to the challenge and I of course accepted. I am grateful for all Richard has done for our site and truly believe that without his intervention it would not exist today. As many of you may be aware the site has been in existence for just about 7 years now, over those 7 years there has been a couple different domain names and a few different owners to go along with them, but the one thing that has remained the same is the quality of the members who have made their home here. As the latest owner, I am hopeful we will continue to attract many more of those quality cichlid enthusiasts who will help us continue to build this community. In an effort to rid our site of problems and issues that have plagued us in the past it became necessary to do what amounted to a major strip down of the old site, this has resulted in what is essentially a brand new site, but including all the years of content from the old one. I have also updated it a bit cosmetically, in fact you will have a choice of two different looks to choose from!
